The Invisible Man

H.G. Wells

Amazing Stories Magazine

June 1928 and July 1928

H.G. Wells The Invisible Man is for sale.  H.G. Wells The Invisible Man is serialised in June 1928 and July 1928 issues of Amazing Stories magazine. Amazing Stories was published by Hugo Gernsback’s Experimenter Publishing Company Inc based at 230 Fifth Avenue in New York in the U.S.A.  The Amazing Stories magazine was launched by Hugo Gernsback in April 1926 and contained science fiction short stories.  The Amazing Stories magazines measure 8.75 x 12.00 inches (approximately).

Together both of the Amazing Stories magazines contain the full story of H.G. Wells The Invisible Man.

The Amazing Stories magazine June 1928 issue is a wonderful edition with great one page and smaller illustrations and stories by leading authors of the day which includes H.G. Wells The Invisible Man, Francis Flagg The Blue Dimension, David H Keller MD A Biological Experiment, Hugo Gernsback Baron Munchhausen’s Scientific Adventures, and Harl Vincent The Golden Girl of Munan.  This edition of Amazing Stories magazine also has wonderful advertisements from the 1920’s.

The Amazing Stories June 1928 issue front cover has a wonderful futuristic front cover believed to be taken from H.G. Wells The Invisible Man.  The covers for the June 1928 issue are in superb condition with a very feint retailer’s rubber stamp to the front cover which is barely noticeable and does not detract from the futuristic colour illustration, slight wear to the spine, and only light marks to the back cover.

The Amazing Stories June 1928 issue pages are numbered 193 through to 286 which are in Very Good condition with age toning throughout; and a closed tear to the top margin of pages 269/270 and 271/272 which is expected for the quality of paper used and the age of this magazine.

The Amazing Stories July 1928 is also an equally wonderful with great one page and smaller illustrations and stories by leading authors of the day which includes Charles Cloukey Super Radio, Marius Vandals From The Moon, H.G. Wells The Invisible Man, Hugo Gernsback Baron Munchhausen’s Scientific Adventures, Raymond Knight Just Around the Corner, and Bob Olsen The Educated Pill.

Again, this issue has wonderful 1920’s US advertisements throughout, as well as large futuristic science fiction illustrations to accompany these great stories.

The Amazing Stories July 1928 issue front cover has a great colour futuristic illustration.  The covers for the July 1928 issue of Amazing Stories magazine are also in superb condition with a retailer’s rubber stamp to the front cover which does not detract from the futuristic colour illustration, a small corner crease to the bottom right corner of the front cover, slight wear to the spine, and with marks to the back cover.

The Amazing Stories July 1928 issue pages are numbered 289 through to 384 which are in Very Good condition with age toning throughout; and very small loss of paper to the top margin of page 322 (the start of The Invisible Man) with no loss of text and really quite small (only mentioned for completeness) which is expected for the quality of paper used and the age of this magazine.
