The Last Hero

Leslie Charteris

circa 1930

The Last Hero Saint book by Leslie Charteris circa 1930 is for sale. Leslie Charteris The Last Hero is a rare Saint book being just the second of The Saint books written by the author Leslie Charteris. The hero is Simon Templar whose alias is The Saint.

This edition of Leslie Charteris The Last Hero book is not dated but has the date to the dedication page of “Paris, January 1930” and is published by Hodder and Stoughton.

Leslie Charteris The Last Hero has its original blue binding with black lettering to the front board and spine, and with Leslie Charteris’ initials to the bottom right corner of the front board.  The front board has a couple of rub marks, the back board is very clean and the spine has discoloured.  The binding has corner knocks, and gentle knocks to the top and bottom of the spine.  However, this is an attractive binding for this rare and very collectable early Leslie Charteris Saint book.

Leslie Charteris The Last Hero has 318 numbered pages with 19 chapters introducing the enduring hero Simon Templar to Leslie Charteris’ audience in 1930.  The pages are in overall Very Good condition with spotting confined mainly to the edges which are viewable when the book is closed.
